Richard Phillips, Jr.
Richard B. Phillips was born in Washington D.C. and now is a writer based in Los Angeles. He wrote the screenplay EDEN, a feature film that won the Audience Award at the 2012 South by Southwest Film Festival and winner of the 1st recipient of Reel NW Award and Runner-Up for the Grand Jury Award at the 2012 Seattle International Film festival. Phillips al wrote the animation series for the Korean comic book hero, the Kimchi Warrior (www.kimchiwarrior.com) and has written cultural programs for PBS. Phillips lived in Asia, for the greater part of the nineties in Korea and Thailand. He taught English at high schools and universities in Korea from 1993-1998. He studied Asian languages, martial arts, and acupuncture in Asia and the United States. He is currently the Public Relations Director and Museum Docent at Korean Cultural Center which is operated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea. He acts as liaison to various events or otherwise a communiqué for the Korean Government to promote Korean culture, film and traditional art in California.
