Since its inaugural in the year 2000, MIFF (Milan International Film Festival) has been dedicated to illuminating the excellence in Independent cinema, thus earning its nickname as the “Sundance of Italy” by the Italian press and media and respected as the only international film-related event in the city of Milan. Made in collaboration with IIC (Italian Culture Institute) the annual MIFF’s Best takes place during AFM (American Film Market) and showcases the award-winning films in Los Angeles.
Each year Made in Milan Int'l Film Society selects a series of award-winning films of the corresponding year's festival program in Milan during MIFF’s Best. The event is designed to facilitate further exposure at AFM for the awarded films in Hollywood territory. The annual MIFF’s Best takes place in the IIC building at 1023 Hilgard Avenue, Westwood 90024.
MIFF’s best’s objectives are to give further illumination to MIFF-winner films, to promote the city of Milan as an essential location in the sphere of International Independent Film industry, and to give additional exposure to Sponsors that are interested to have a media impact in the U.S. MIFF’s Best is officially recognized by the Italian Consulate General and all major Italian Institutions in Los Angeles. Followed by a diverse array of audiences, MIFF’s Best is also generously supported by many illustrious persons, including top celebrities, Oscar awardees and nominees, respected independent filmmakers, producers and distributors who are already resonating in the metropolitan Independent community.
